Dear Caprice,

Thank you for your kind comments. It is good to know that there are others who are spreading the word about the problems associated with high triglyceride levels! As for omega 3 fatty acids, I write about them almost every week, I feel they are crucial for health and wellbeing. On the 24th November I dedicated a piece to brain health and included recent evidence concerning myelination of nerves. I had not heard of Juice Plus, thank you for the link. I am aware of other 'food state' and 'whole food' supplements and do think that they represent a great way of boosting vitamin, mineral and flavonoid levels in individuals who struggle to achieve optimum intakes of vegetables and fruits.

Kindest regards

Hi Ani -

You provide great advice. I too believe that focusing on the triglyceride levels is the key. Numbers can be deceiving and there are still deaths from heart disease in people who thought they were OK because their cholesterol medication kept their numbers at an "acceptable" level. Fish oils, flaxseed are so important to not only heart health, but brain health and helps strengthen the mylan (insulation) in the brain to help it function better. Overall, it's the healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, berries and whole grains (and avoidance of processed, chemical, convenience food, sugars, bad fatty foods, and foods stripped of nutrients like white bread and white rice). After reading your post, I was wondering if you heard of Juice Plus? It's 28 fruits, veggies, berries and whole grains dehydrated - no salt, sugar, pesticides - and put in capsule form. Since most people aren't eating enough of the food in its whole form, Juice Plus is an excellent way to get a lot of phytonutrients daily to help lower cholesterol and positively impact overall health. www.wethriveonjuiceplus.com
